Sets up and performs prime and finish coat painting on engines and parts which require ordinary finishes.
-Spray paints parts and engines.- Thins paint to proper consistency to ensure proper coverage.- Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of spray-painting equipment-changing hoses, nozzles, blowing out lines, etc..
Basic knowledge of spray-painting equipment and previous spray painter work experience.
Required Personal Protection Equipment; spray painting equipment; and basic hand tools.
High School Diploma or General Studies degree-GED; and minimum 1 year related experience and-or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Proficiency in English is required and proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling. Occasional climbing. Must be able to lift, push, and pull 3-30 lbs. during entire shift. Must be able to extend arm for extended periods of time.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic proficiency in researching overhaul manuals, and basic computer literacy, with and understanding of Windows environment.
