  • Production Planner

    Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products by performing the following duties. Has indirect supervisory responsibilities.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    - Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
    - Reviews orders and schedules production to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and timeline for delivery to meet demand.
    - Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production
    and quality of products meets internal and external customer requirements and expectations.
    - Systematically adjust lead times and safety stock levels and requirements based on business needs.
    - Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
    - Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
    - Other duties as assigned.

    Education and experience

    Bachelor's degree from fouryear college or university; or one to two years related
    experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Physical requirements

    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 20 pounds repeatedly and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to traverse the shop floor. May require bending, reaching, kneeling.

    Language skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Mathematical skills

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Reasoning ability

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


    Strong competency in the use of personal computing including, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience in MACOLA or similar MRP and computer-based planning applications such as ES/MRP, SAP.
