  • Electrician (Maintenance)

    Summary

    Installs, modifies, and repairs electrical units, systems, and components throughout the facility.

    Essential duties and responsibilities

    - Installs wire ways, switches, panels, buss ducts, fixtures, outlets, plugs, etc.
    - Installs a variety of types and sizes of electrical motors.
    - Installs automatic, manual, and remote type control systems with relays, starters, switches, rectifiers, alarm systems, airmatic controls and basic electronic control units.
    - Installs and repairs all electrical systems.
    - Traces causes of failure in equipment operation and corrects faulty operation throughout the entire plant including all test block facilities.
    - Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Special skills and qualifications required

    Journeymans Card or equivalent from a recognized state or trade organization and two additional years of experience as a maintenance electrician. Or A two year Associates Degree in Electrical, and two years related experience and,or training.

    Tools and equipment utilized

    Required Personal Protection Equipment. Use of ammeters, voltmeters, voltohmmeter, meggers, wheatrstone bridges, oscilloscopes, tube testers, and recorders. Use of all standard electricians hand tools.

    Language skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Microsoft Office, INFOR a plus
    WORK CONTEXT
    Work location is indoors, outside, below ground, and on elevated areas. There may be temperature extremes ranging from 30 oF - 100oF. There can be frequent standing, sitting, bending, reaching, walking, climbing, and kneeling. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. during entire shift. Must be able to work with contact cleaner.
