Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.- Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative reports explaining findings.- Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions.- Make appropriate entries for fixed asset additions, deletions or transfers and prepare associated depreciation and amortization journal entries. Provide related tax schedules as required.- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.- Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.- Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.- Collect and provide appropriate data for preparation of federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.- Other duties may be assigned.
Accounting degree from four year college with one to three years related experience and,or training. CPA and/or Masters in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, and financial statements. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present analytical information and findings in a clear concise manner.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Windows Office, MACOLA or other ERP accounting software.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 10 pounds repeatedly and lift up to 60 pounds. Ability to bending, reaching, and kneeling repeatedly.
