The warranty analyst is responsible for the review and analysis of warranty data and assisting with the review of warranty product. Plans, directs, and coordinates exclusive of supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Comply with all AS, ISO, Internal procedures and work instructions- Collect and analyze warranty data from source databases - Process and manage warranty claims from open to closure- Validate claim data against contracts and databases, provide disposition instructions for the material exhibits, and manage claim files- Standardize warranty reporting formats and provide periodic reports to senior management - Partner with Customer Service to implement templates and tools to increase data accuracy and consistency of data collection- Work independently and with subject matter experts to investigate, analyze, and obtain root cause and corrective action for warranty claims- Facilitate departmental interaction and cross-functional teams for investigation and resolution of warranty claims, up to and including acting as team lead for the activity- Work with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities as required to review warranty claims, standardize, and trend data- Provide reliability calculations for systems, components, and parts as requested- Identify visual defects and make dispositions on warranty materials- Must be unbiased in approach to warranty claims and resultsThe above is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. Experience with Quality Assurance procedures and warranty methods used in aviation is a plus. Experience with piston engine assembly and test operations, is also desired.Certificates and,or Licenses ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer Certification and FAA A&P Certificate are preferred, but not required. Communication and Comprehension - Verbal and written communication skills are required- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents - Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format - Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors- Fluency in English is requiredProblem Solving- Maintain a team oriented working environment that allows for process development, corrective action and problem solving- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions- Ability to effectively handle multiple activities simultaneously and successfully function in a fast-paced, cross functional environment- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesMathematical- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysisComputer and Technical - Knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office Suite - Minitab or similar statistical software- Design software such as Catia, Pro EngineerEtc.Physical Requirements The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
