  • Assistant Buyer

    To provide administrative support for buyers. This position includes monitoring and following up as needed.

    Essential duties and responsibilities

    - Maintain and distribute the daily hot list.
    - Make follow up calls for shipments and confirm future shipments.
    - Process PMR and NMD paperwork, quality and engineering requests.
    - Obtain specification or print requests.
    - Get information from the supplier portal for follow up.
    - Make Bar codes for missing shipments.
    - Acquire important information in a timely manner to help keep department running smoothly.
    - Communicate changes to all involved parties.
    - Must take direction from multiple people.
    - Contact suppliers and obtain certification paperwork for shipments.
    - Ensure that any invoices are sent to accounting for payment.
    - Track shipments of inbound material.
    - Perform other duties as assigned.

    Physical requirements

    Ability to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time. Ability to traverse the shop floor. The Team member must be able to climb stairs and ladders

    Education and experience

    Associate's degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and,or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language skills

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Reasoning ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations as well as solve practical problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.


    Strong competency in the use of personal computing including, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience in MACOLA or similar MRP preferred.
