  • Avionics Installer

    Assist in installing, modification and fabrication of wiring and electrical components, systems, fixtures, assemblies and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematics, worksheets and engineering drawings.

    Essential duties and responsibilities

    - Fabricate and install basic avionics and electrical systems.
    - Complete or assist with more complex installation tasks.
    - Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interior as directed to facilitate avionics installations or repairs.
    - Complete light sheet metal fabrications as directed to facilitate avionics installations or repairs.
    - Complete wiring harness fabrication and installation.
    - Complete antenna installations and coax cable terminations.
    - Complete or assist with wire harness continuity checks.
    - Assist with wiring harness maps or mock ups.
    - Assist with maintaining required logs and records.
    - To be able to assist you must have general knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and customer specifications to.
    - Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
    - Perform other duties as assigned.

    Physical requirements

    Ability to stand or sit for an extended period of time. Ability to work in confined spaces or uncomfortable positions for short periods of time.

    Education and experience

    High school diploma or general education degree and 5 years experience in avionics installation, General Aviation type aircraft required. Experience with blue prints, wiring diagrams, electrical components required.

    Certifications requirments

    Bench experience or A&P certificate preferred but not required. Technical Certificate in aircraft electrical assembly preferred but not required.

    Language skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical skills

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages to practical situations.

    Reasoning ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


    Knowledge of Windows, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Word preferred.
